Frequently Asked Questions

We know that you will have questions, but we want you to know that when it comes to Solar Power, we have the answers.

Is Solar Power Expensive?

The cost of a system for the average home or business can vary drastically depending on your energy usage.  However, it is important that you know that you will see tremendous returns over the life of the system versus continuing to pay the power company. One thing that is certain is that choosing to go completely Solar means that you don't pay an electricity bill anymore, and whether you choose to buy your system outright or pay on it monthly, there will be a day when you have no energy bill whatsoever and the return on your investment (ROI) will begin to grow substancially. How Does Solar Power Work?

To keep it simple, Light energy coming from the sun is converted to electrical current through a solar panel. The energy is then converted from Direct Current (DC) to Alternating Current (AC) through a device called an Inverter. That current is then fed into your breaker box, which is then distributed to all the electrical components in your home or business.

What is Net Metering?

Net Metering is the term given to the mutual exchange of electrical energy between any Grid- tied residence or commercial structure with the Power Company.

When customers use electricity from the Power Company's grid, their meters turn in a positive direction while measuring the amount of kilowatts being used. However, when customers push energy into the Power Company's grid, their meters turn in a negative direction. In regards to Solar Power, we calculate the size of your system based on your current electricity consumption and further rate it precisely to power your home during the day, while pushing energy back onto the grid. When the sun sets and the panels stop generating current, electricity is then pulled back from the grid. If sized properly, there should be no bill or a credit for the customer.

Grid-tied VS. Off Grid?

Grid-tied system is a system that is connected to a Power Company.

An Off Grid System is a system that can utilize batteries when the use of the sun is not available. These systems are not connected to the grid in any way.

What Incentives are currently available through the Purchase of a Solar Powered System?
